Vienna Calling

Caragh Lake to Vienna, door to door, 12 hours, with a bunch of 4 lunaticschildren in attendance, left us absolutely knackered but 11 and 9 hours of sleep in the following 2 nights got us back on our feet. I will try and stay off my feet tomorrow as much as possible. The weather forecast for Sunday is still just about perfect.

I only did a couple of short runs yesterday and today, 2.5 miles each. The coach told me I could run, but with a limit of 2-3 miles. Think of doing a warm up for a 5k without doing the race. My legs felt like lead yesterday and I started fearing the worst, but today felt much better and the optimism is back.

There's nothing left but the sub-3 marathon itself.

  12. Are you kidding me, the official time says 2:59:35? Wow, congratulations, well done, I'm really looking forward to reading this race report.

In all seriousness, you should be very proud of yourself. Running that far under 3 hours is quite the accomplishment. Be sure to enjoy some well earned rest and recovery!

  13. Congratulations Thomas.

What an impressive run. Thanks so much for including my number for text updates every 5k. It was so exciting following your progress.

You were right on the line at every split. I rang John McL when you were half way and we both thought it was going to be tough to run an even split but you did it. Excellent.

I tried to send you a text but it wouldn't go so maybe I have the wrong number.

Looking forward to reading all the details! Recover well and enjoy the rest of your trip and have a safe journey home.

Ps Plus Man City beat Man Utd - a great weekend!!
