I did indeed run 7 miles as planned this morning, and boy, was it rewarding! It was 6:45 when I left our house, it was still dark outside and I was running under the most stunningly beautiful starry sky you can imagine, Orion straight ahead of me. When I ran along the shores of Caragh Lake, the first light of day somehow managed to illuminate the surrounding hills in a light that was – pure magic. I’m half tempted to take a camera with me one morning to take a picture, but I know that a photo could never capture the magic of that scene.
Wow, I’m really lucky to live in such a gorgeous place!

  1. I would love to see a picture. Its always nice to see where others run.

  2. I did most of my long runs this year early Saturday mornings, usually starting before the sun came out. There is just something special about running and watching the day come to life. Sounds like your area is a lot more beautiful though!

  3. Yes, I've often wished there was some way to capture the moment. The things we all see on our runs are so different from the same view taken from our cars at 60 miles/hr, not to mention the sounds, the wind, the heat, the chills, the smells! I guess we'll just have to rely on our memories, and perhaps a blog entry or two.
