The Short Version

Gun time 3:30:09, chip time estimated 3:28:30, I haven't got anything official yet. I've never been in as much pain as over the last 3 miles, but I did manage negative splits by about 3 or 4 minutes.

Very happy, very tired, very sore. I'll post a proper race report once I find the energy. It might have to wait until tomorrow.

--------

Update: It's official, my chip time was 03:28:42, place overall 934 (out of 10000 starters), 175 in my age group.

I'm travelling all the way to Kerry by train tomorrow, and won't be at a computer until the evening. You've got to be patient about the race report, I'm afraid.

  24. Thomas you Rock. I've been waiting for this report (am from Central Asia, Kaz) and thought about you having my Sunday run. I knew it was Much harder to you.. actually I was doubt you'd manage it about 3 and a half due to that pain you had the Race before. I was wrong - you DID manage it! reading your blog is a pure inspiration. Thank you P.S. Pls post some pics in the detailed report. Eager to see it

Phil & I didn't get the time we wanted but we were delighted all the same that we'd completed our first marathon. We're talking about the next one now & someday we hope to be as good a runner as you are. We've got some work to do though to catch up to you!!!
